Tom Martin Builds a Listening Room

When Tom Martin, Chairman and CEO of Nextscreen, publisher of The Absolute Sound, decided to build a new listening room, he did it from the ground up. After all, Tom is also a passionate, exacting audiophile, who likes a job done right.

Considering Tom's occupation, this would need to be more than just a listening room: It would be a custom-made, multipurpose structure that would house incoming and outgoing products, accommodate large and small components equally well, and contain a small film studio.

In this detailed video, Tom shares insights gained from the process — everything from identifying the right acoustic consultants to choosing the room dimensions and orientation to various budget considerations.

The result is a room that boasts remarkable tonal balance, clarity, and imaging, and a working environment that matches comfort with convenience and productivity.

Featured AudioQuest gear includes Niagara 3000 and Niagara 5000 power conditioners, and AudioQuest is delighted to be a part of Tom Martin's listening experience, reference system, and toolkit.
