When it comes to surge protection, size matters, says Krista Haughey, AudioQuest's Senior Director, North American Sales. We asked her why she's so dang enthusiastic about the PowerQuest TV3 non-sacrificial surge protector.
Q: You’ve been a vocal champion for the PowerQuest TV3, enthusiastically participating in sales and marketing initiatives to highlight its features and versatility. What aspect(s) of the TV3 are you most excited about?
KH: The TV3's compact size — it measures just (10" W x 6.125" H x 1.75" D / 254mm W x 155.58mm H x 44.45mm D) — opens AudioQuest up to business we’ve been missing.
Research shows more than 200 million TVs were sold globally in 2024, and over 50% of US sales were 55" or larger with UHD capability. That indicates a massive opportunity for us.
Considering how many setups could benefit from high-performance power conditioning in a compact design — whether its in a home theater, an office, a small stereo system, or a gaming system — there is great potential for the TV3. It easily fits right into that space — literally and figuratively.
That's a lot of fertile ground to explore for a high-performance product of the TV3's size.
The TV3's biggest advantage is the space it doesn’t take up! It’s designed to be discreet and is easily installed behind a TV or tucked underneath furniture, so the focus stays on the audio and video experience — not the gear behind it.
Q: What practical challenges does the PowerQuest TV3 solve?
KH: The biggest advantage is the space it doesn’t take up! It’s designed to be discreet and is easily installed behind a TV or tucked underneath furniture, so the focus stays on the audio and video experience — not the gear behind it.
The PowerQuest TV3 can be mounted into a backbox and installed discreetly behind a TV to provide uncompressed power to a soundbar and exceptional noise reduction to a TV and streaming device.
Q: When attempting to educate and engage consumers on the importance of power conditioning and surge protection, what challenges or biases have you encountered and how does the PowerQuest TV3 help alleviate those things?
KH: In the past, our entry-level PowerQuest models included more outlets and features that some customers simply didn't need — coaxial and USB connections, for instance. Installation could also be challenging, especially for integrators trying to hide bulkier units like the PQ-3. The TV3 addresses all of that. It delivers the same trusted performance and protection in a design that’s simple, versatile, and easy to install discreetly.
