Introducing... PowerQuest 909: Where Power Meets Grace
Power meets grace in the PowerQuest 909, a high-performance 20-amp power conditioner with non-sacrificial surge protection and ultra-linear filtering.
Bass Speaker Cable with RF/ND-Tech
Often, the choice between terminating your speaker cables with spade lugs or banana plugs will come down to personal preference. However, the EU-compliant isolated binding posts used on some power amplifiers often makes it difficult if not impossible to tighten spade lugs with high torque or pressure. In these applications, the AudioQuest banana connector is the superior choice, and may be the only choice.
AudioQuest has conducted a fairly extensive survey of contemporary amplifier manufacturers to determine whether spades or bananas will be most appropriate for a given brand and model of amplifier. Please contact us, provide the brand and model of the amplifier, and we’ll respond with the optimal connector type.
Here we typically recommend the U-Spade or banana connector. However, even though there is less weight and pressure on this side of the cable (particularly for BiWire sets), it is nevertheless important to note the binding post’s design. If a banana connector cannot seat all the way into the binding post, we recommend one of our spade connectors.
BigFoot BASS features several tried-and-true AudioQuest materials and design elements, including Solid Perfect-Surface Copper+ conductors that have been direction-controlled for low distortion and efficient Noise-Dissipation.
Like all Folk Hero and Mythical Creature speaker cables, BigFoot BASS uses ZERO-Tech, which eliminates the electrostatic field between the cable's high and low signal conductors, enabling linear Radio-Frequency Noise-Dissipation and uncompressed current transfer.
AudioQuest BASS cables add RF/ND-Tech, which greatly reduces distortion caused by induced radio-frequency noise and signal masking, yielding unprecedented levels of Noise-Dissipation across the widest bandwidth of radio frequencies possible.
All latest-generation Folk Heroes and Mythical Creatures share a physical construction that places positive and negative sides in discrete housings. Not only does this aid physical flexibility, enabling simpler installation and more satisfying user experience, but the design allows for additional materials to significantly improve the Noise-Dissipation aspects of the cable’s design.
Made for BiWiring
When a speaker has separate Bass and Treble inputs, running separate cables to the treble and bass “halves” of a speaker significantly reduces distortion. BiWiring keeps the large signal currents associated with bass energy out of the treble cable, allowing the delicate upper frequencies to travel a less modulated path, like taking the waves out of the water when you swim.
With RF/ND-Tech, the advantage of BiWiring is much more dramatic. Patented RF-Canceling Ground-Noise Dissipation attracts RF energy away from the amplifier’s output. Because RF/ND-Tech is so effective, BASS model cables are only for 10kHz and below — Do not use a BASS cable full-range or on treble.
BigFoot BASS is the Bass cable for Lone Ranger or Athena ZERO-Tech speaker cables. A BiWire COMBO with BASS and ZERO cables joined together at the amplifier is usually most convenient, though joining them is optional. When TriWiring, use BASS cables on the Midrange and Bass inputs.
Do not Double-BiWire with two ZERO-Tech cables. Your amp will distort.
