In 2012, when we released the original DragonFly DAC, we could not have predicted how (or if) it would be embraced by the traditional audiophile community. Of course, we thought it was a strong concept — "beautiful music from any computer" had a lovely ring to it — but would people really get it?
The Absolute Sound's Robert Harley quickly put those questions to rest. He got it.
"The high-end industry has long lamented its inability to appeal to regular folks who just like to listen to music," he began.
Deciding that our little critter excelled at conveying music's rhythm, pulse, and flow, he concluded his 2012 review: "The DragonFly’s genius is bringing the technologies, musical passion, and aesthetic of high-end audio to a product that all who love music can afford — and one that easily fits into the way they already access music."
