American Made: AudioQuest DragonFly Cobalt

You probably wouldn't expect it, but, on Main Street in the small village of Lynchburg, Ohio (population: 1,500), there is an electronics manufacturer specializing in turnkey solutions.

Included among their many offerings: surface-mount technology, axial insertion, automated optical inspection, selective soldering, wave soldering, PCB water washing, conformal coating, encapsulation, and other manufacturing services most consumers likely take for granted or rarely even consider.

There, at Mirac Tabtronics, a small team of uniquely dedicated employees build AudioQuest's award-winning DragonFly DAC

On a cold and gray few days in November 2021, Jana Dagdagan traveled to Lynchburg to receive a behind-the-scenes look at that process. In this video, you'll meet DragonFly's lead engineer, Gordon Rankin; Mirac's manufacturing engineer, Jim Goble; an adorable tuxedo cat; and others who carefully bring DragonFly to life.
