Ola Björling's Ukiro.Music YouTube channel is quickly becoming a favorite destination for thoughtful, entertaining hi-fi reviews and unexpected music recommendations.
Take, for instance, his review of the Sigberg Audio Saranna active loudspeakers, in which he not only capably describes the inherent compromises and benefits of point-source driver implementation but also confesses his undying love for extreme metal.
In which he not only casually uses the phrase "gatekeeping audiophile dinosaurs" but also quips that "code tends to be faster than soldering."
In which he not only offers a refreshingly astute "side rant within a side rant about digital signals in audio cables" but also notes that the Sigberg's overall coherency is "intoxicatingly pleasing."
Perhaps it is no surprise that what Ola enjoys most about the Sigbergs is their ability to get him "super immersed in the sound" — whether with music or, as he puts it, "non-music."
Sound familiar? Emotional immersion must be in the air.
At around 32:49, as part of Ola's side rant within a side rant about digital signals in audio cables, he accurately explores the variables that possibly contribute to the Sigbergs' AES/EBU connection outperforming their coaxial counterpart.
He recommends, "Whatever it is, get proper digital cables. You'll thank me later."
