In this video, Michael Fremer, The Absolute Sound's Editor-at-Large, welcomes viewers into his listening room for a look at the many cartridges and cables he's collected over the years.
The cartridge discussion is very cool, of course, but we're here for the cables.
"Cables make a difference," Michael says. "It's the difference between being satisfied with your system and not."
He goes on to discuss the ways in which AudioQuest Dragon speaker cables, interconnects, and AC power cables have impacted his system and listening experience. "When I put in the AudioQuest, it was like an open window... I didn't hear cables... It was open and clean and much better."
To those who remain skeptical about the positive impact high-quality cables can have on the overall performance of an audio system, Michael encourages them to simply listen.
"If you don't think these make a difference, go to a local shop that'll let you rent cables to try out in your system... Trust your own senses... Don't believe what you hear from these people that only go by three measurements to tell you how things sound.
