AudioQuest ThunderBird and Dragon Receive The Absolute Sound's Inaugural Technology of the Year Award

The Absolute Sound's Fall 2025 Special Issue, available now, highlights noteworthy technologies and innovations in high-end audio. TAS editor-in-chief Robert Harley explains: "Technological advances are pushing forward the state of the art in music reproduction while also bringing better sound to lower-priced products. These innovations are revolutionizing how we access and enjoy music."

We are absolutely delighted to announce that our ThunderBird and Dragon interconnects and ThunderBird speaker cables have received The Absolute Sound's Technology of the Year Award.

AudioQuest ThunderBird XLR > XLR - ICTBIRDXLR050 0.5 m = 1 ft 7 in PairIn his review of our ThunderBird cables, TAS's Neil Gader decided:

ThunderBird Zero joins a very small cadre of cables that, in my opinion, demonstrate exemplary transparent sonic behavior and convey superb musicality all along the system chain. Without question, this is one high-flying bird.

And in evaluating the performance of our Dragon interconnects, TAS's Robert Harley reflected

AudioQuest’s new Dragon is not only the most transparent and revealing interconnect I’ve heard, it’s also the most musically rewarding. The things that it does so well are all aligned toward fostering a powerful feeling of connection to the music and the expression of the musicians rather than just filling in boxes on an audiophile checklist.

Finally, in the Fall 2025 (Issue #362) print edition, Neil Gader concludes:

Breakthroughs in cable performance are rare, but this is one case where innovative design and materials research has truly advanced the state of the art and science.
